Painted portrait of Won du Paye, 1986- Seattle, WA

Back to the portraits I painted at the Fremont Studio over the Red Door Tavern in the late 80's. This is Won du Paye, who would say, " you pronounce my name 'One Day', as in, "One Day I will achieve my dreams". He was my African Dance teacher- lithe, handsome, and very cheerful, but had sadness in his eyes too. He sat very patiently for me. Nancy Schutt Seattle painter early work
